Jotstation Privacy Policy
Jotstation is a notes app that connects to the notes server you already own. It has no accounts, no analytics, and no servers of ours. We do not collect, receive, or sell any information about you.
What stays between you and your server
When you sign in, the app talks directly to your own server (for example, your Synology NAS running Note Station). Your notes, attachments, and search queries travel only between your device and that server. We never see them.
What is stored on your device
- Sign-in details. Your server address and username are saved in the app's settings. Your password and trusted-device ID are saved in the system keychain (iOS and macOS Keychain), not in a plain file.
- Offline copy. To open quickly and work offline, notes and photo previews are saved on your device, encrypted with a key held in your keychain. Other apps cannot read them. You can remove this copy any time in Settings.
- App lock. If you set a PIN, it is saved in the system keychain. Face ID and Touch ID are handled by the system; the app never sees your face or fingerprint data.
- Preferences. Appearance, font, and text size.
Deleting the app, or choosing "Forget this account" or "Remove the local copy," removes the matching data from your device.
Network connections
- Your server, at the address you entered.
- If you sign in with a QuickConnect ID, Synology's QuickConnect service, to find and reach your server. That connection is governed by Synology's own policies.
The app makes no other network requests. It contains no advertising, tracking, or third-party analytics code.
Demo mode
The demo uses sample notes built into the app. It makes no network connection, and nothing you type is saved.
Children
Jotstation is not directed at children and collects no personal information from anyone.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date.
